Venue Available / Studio/Work Space
We know that space is scarce in Seattle. Through our Base Independent program, Base is committed to making our flexible space available for independent artists and groups wishing to mount productions—whether for a night, a weekend, a week or a whole month.
Because demand for Base is high, we’ve evolved the Base Independent program in order to better respond to the growing needs of the dance and performance community. Artists can apply to the Base Independent program for specific dates and duration (see below). The Base Independent program is not a curated series; applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis.
Applications are currently being accepted for Base Independents taking place between December 2019 and April 2020. The application deadline is November 10th, 2019. 2019-2020 Base Independent participants will be announced November 18, 2019.

These rates also include access to seating and risers to be installed and de-installed by your team. Week-long engagements that don’t require seating, tech elements or house management are eligible for a no-tech, $1,300 weekly rate. On a case by case basis, you may also arrange with Base staff to build your Base Independent experience on à la carte basis. Check our Base Independent FAQ page or email us for details.
