Queer n Care, in collaboration with AIESEC India, invites queer (and ally) artists to submit their visual art work for consideration in our upcoming thematic launch of Winter 2021 Issue, “Snowflake Pride: Queering Happiness”. The guest curators for this issue are the visual artists Pallav Chander and Anoushka Gogoi. The deadline for submission of visual art work is 15th August 2021.
As winter arrives, we gently acknowledge the hardships that the queer community has faced, especially young creatives, with endless restrictions and lockdowns. In this context, we concentrate on the common objection raised to our identity, as queer young persons, of being “snowflakes”. Winter at QnC is a winter of celebrating snowflakes. We welcome you to reappropriate the world of snowflakes proudly through your artwork. Think about: “As snowflake queers, what is happiness? What are the brightest stars and darkest galaxies that make up your happiness? What memories populate your snowflake mind?”- We want it all. We want it now. It is time for reclamation!

Winter 2021 Issue on “Snowflake Pride: Queering Happiness” will feature 12 visual art works across QnC’s website and socials. The launch event will be organized in early-October with AIESEC India, as part of the AIESEC SDG Weekender.

Queer.n.Care is an aesthetic space for expression of mental health experiences of queer community, by queer and ally artists. This Call for Art Work is open to all visual artists from across all creative disciplines, no matter what level you are at. Whether you are still studying or a working professional, we would love to see the work that you are creating. QnC prides itself on being a platform that focuses a lot of its attention on students and emerging talent. Along with a senior curator, the artist Pallav Chander, in keeping with our commitment to support young creatives, our second guest editor is Anoushka Gogoi. Anoushka Gogoi is a Postgraduate Researcher, in MFA in Curating at Department of Art in Goldsmiths, University of London. Further, one of the selected artists will be invited as a guest editor and junior curator for our next issue, Spring 2022.

You will submit your artwork to QnC through mail. The mail address for submission is queerncare@gmail.com
Please find below the instructions for submission:
Subject of Mail: WINTER 2021: SUBMISSION: YOUR NAME
Artwork Format: JPEG, PNG, PDF [Maximum file size: 5mb]
Filename for Art Work: artistname_ imagetitle
Attachments: Short CV bio and Statement of around 50 words describing your artwork (QnC will edit)
Social Media: Mention your website (if any) and social media links (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
Please make sure you follow the above format. This is important and without this, your submission will not be accepted. All non-digital/traditional works must be submitted according to the above guidelines.
