WHAT: Call for Works of Art About Specificity [DEADLINE EXTENDED] / Calls & Submissions

Deadline
December 9, 2020

Organization Name: Manifest Gallery

Organization Location: Cincinnati, OH

Type: Calls & Submissions

Fee: $40 for up to FOUR entries submitted.

Discipline:

The Cincinnati based non-profit arts organization and gallery, Manifest, invites visual artists to submit works of art about specificity as it relates to the Five Themes of Who, What, Where, When, and Why. Perhaps it is a question, or perhaps it is an answer to any number of related questions in a multi-part puzzle—expressing inquiry or determination about the identity, nature, or value of an object or matter. Whether pronoun, adverb, adjective, or determiner, What is ubiquitous in the English language, with its first known use being over 800 years ago. It continues to fluidly, almost invisibly, enable conversation, learning, and action.

This exhibit has no defined expectation for type or style of work to be considered or selected. Submissions can range from the most traditional to the most conceptual, abstract, or experimental of any media.

$40 for up to FOUR entries submitted. $5 per each additional entry.

ANNUAL CASH AWARD: The annual Manifest Grand Jury Prize will result in the awarding of one significant cash prize ($2500) to a single work selected as the ‘best of the entire season’.
