Youth Art Exhibition for BIPOC Youth in South King County / Calls & Submissions
Deadline
August 1, 2026
Organization Name: Communities of Rooted Brilliance
Organization Location: Kent, WA
Type: Calls & Submissions
Fee: Free
We are Communities of Rooted Brilliance, we are a non-profit based in Kent that does work with immigrant and refugee families regarding advocacy, resource navigation, and other forms of needs. We recently were awarded a grant by Seattle and King County Public Health to run a Youth Art Exhibition focused on primarily BIPOC youth artists (ages 24 and below) that live in South King County.
This project presents young BIPOC artists with a platform in which they can speak about and share stories through visual media (painting, music, dance, and more) that addresses the negative impacts of historical marginalization, historical trauma, racism, and other adverse experiences that have impacted them and their families. Through this Exhibition and Studio, local communities will be able to share experiences and support, a place and time of resilience, healing, and understanding. Discovering new forms of art and expression used by different communities and being able to have these communities share their experiences and visual expressions in a space where they can be their most authentic selves.
Applications are on a rolling basis. If they are chosen, they will be financially compensated and will have their art displayed at our Art Exhibition and Showcase event on Saturday, August 15th at Postmark Center for the Arts in Auburn!
Please send any art examples or portfolios to my email alan@rootedbrilliance.org.
