About

Emma Barnes has eight years of professional arts and culture experience, combined with a
decade serving non-profit organizations. She was raised on a small farm in Central
Washington but has called Pasco home for 16 years. She graduated with a degree in
history from Washington State University, before beginning her career in arts and cultural
administration. She brings with her a comprehensive knowledge of nonprofit leadership and
management, as well as donor and funding development. She currently works at Crow’s
Shadow Institute of the Arts (Pendleton, Oregon) as the organization’s first Development
Director.

She is an ardent advocate for the arts, and is committed to enhancing equitable access
while promoting underrepresented mediums, artists, and perspectives. Her strength and
focus as an advocate are in highlighting the economic power of the arts and the benefit the
arts bring to communities. In her spare time, she dabbles in various art mediums, including
illustration, painting, and graphic design.
