The ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) is a private non-profit organization that seeks to protect individual liberties, particularly those rights guaranteed in the Bill of Rights of the U.S. Constitution. The ACLU provides know-your-rights literature, self-advocacy tools, and referrals to appropriate organizations and government agencies. Depending upon resources, the ACLU is sometimes able to provide limited legal advocacy. Contact American Civil Liberties Union of Washington (ACLU) for counseling, information and legal aid in English, Spanish, and other languages upon request.
