Sumi Paranjape is a biomedical scientist and public health professional who is passionate about health innovation and equity. In her current role at the US Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health, (ARPA-H), Sumi works with the front office team of the Proactive Health Mission to develop strategies and programs to find ways to keep people healthy and prevent them from becoming patients. Sumi has significant experience spanning data and research and has worked in the private, non-profit, and philanthropic sectors. As the COO of the Bloodworks Research Institute, Sumi helped oversee program expansion during COVID. Prior to that, Sumi was the Director for Biotechnology at Vulcan where she oversaw the development of innovations to improve health and conservation. To stay happy, Sumi runs, practices yoga, and tries to write. Whenever possible, she loves to hike and travel with her husband and their dog, Cotton.
