About

Meredith Clark is a writer who works at the intersection of poetry and prose. Her writing has received Black Warrior Review’s nonfiction prize, and been published in Poetry Northwest and The Dusie Kollektiv. Her book, Lyrebird, was named a finalist for both the 2017 Tarpaulin Sky Book Prize and the 2017 Noemi Press Book Award. She is a 2018 Jack Straw Writers fellow, and has been an artist in residence at Art Farm Nebraska and The Vermont Studio Center. These days, she writes about trees, bodies, fragments, and the uncategorizable, and is at work on her second book.

Meredith received 2018 GAP Award funding for a series of archival scans of notebook covers, which bear the marks of the world they’ve traveled through and record the artist’s own embodiment in small but indelible traces. This work occurs alongside the writing of a book exploring time, trauma, and the body.
