About

I am Miguel Renteria; I am an artist; I am 25 years old I breakdance, also known as a B-boy. I have been dancing for 15 years; I teach, compete, and travel to events in state and out of state and give back to the community teaching youth how to navigate ways of life, while having fun in a safe environment utilizing life skills mixed with passion of the art itself as a way of expressing feelings throughout the dance itself. I believe dance itself has created pathways for me to be able to be part of a community, it’s hip-hop, it’s universal, and can speak to anyone through the dance itself.

I grew up in Olympia. In 6th grade, a group of friends and I all went out every weekend to Y Night provided by our local YMCA. We formed a crew, and many of us still dance. Some split ways and found other things in life, but I kept pushing and now I am a leader and member of Floor Vandals Crew, which is represented throughout the state and has a Branch off crew stationed in Hawaii. With Breaking being in the 2024 Olympics I hope to create pathways for younger generations to break for gold in the upcoming years for Olympics. My goal is to spread the culture of hip hop and the knowledge behind the dance itself.

Peace, love, and unity as one.
