About

Mike Attie is a Seattle-based (but very mobile) filmmaker. His documentary films have played and won awards at numerous film festivals, both in the US and abroad. He has also produced commissioned work for commercial and non-profit clients. Mike’s services range from freelance shooting and sound recording to full-service production, from scripting and storyboarding to post-production.

Mike received 2012 GAP funding to pay for the transcription and translation services that are vital in the editing process. The funds also covered the costs of hiring an experienced editor to help craft their character-driven documentary film, In Country, which captures the stories of a “platoon” of dedicated Vietnam War reenactors based in the Pacific Northwest. Mike and his co-director, Meghan O’Hara, have a proven track record with their short documentary films; over seven of them have won awards at prestigious film festivals in the US and abroad. In Country was their first step into feature-length documentary filmmaking.

In 2013, Mike received the Full Frame Garrett Scott Grant for his film In Country, and the film also made Indiewire’s list of top 50 films to see.
