About

Rob McKirdie is a nationally exhibited sculptor whose work is recognized for its exploration of connections among collected and discarded materials. Through mold making, fabrication, and metal casting, he investigates the properties and possibilities of objects, inviting the viewer to see the materials within a new framework.

His work appears in galleries across the Pacific Northwest, at the Roger Williams Zoo (Providence, RI), as well as in private collections throughout the country. Most recently, a sculpture by McKirdie was acquired by the University of North Dakota.

McKirdie has a BFA in Studio Practice, and a BS in Sculpture from Portland State University. He went on to earn an MFA in Sculpture from Rhode Island School of Design. McKirdie has taught at Marywood University in Scranton, PA, and he is currently a tenured professor at Spokane Falls Community College, where he has taught since 2015.
