Learn About Grants for Artists' Progress (GAP)
From her birthplace in the urban wilds of NYC to the open spaces of the rural Washington mountain valley she calls home, Salyna Gracie finds inspiration in the embodied archetypes of the natural world. Encaustic lends itself to her process of layering of materials that play with light, hiding or revealing deeper mysteries as each layer fuses to the whole, illuminating questions of identity, memory, mysticism and spiritual awakening.
A former professional dancer, Salyna’s visual art career began in 2010, with paintings and poetry featured in both solo and group exhibitions across the Pacific Northwest, published in books and literary journals, and recently featured in The Good Life Magazine by the Omak Chronicle.
