About
Shaila Tenorio was born in north-central Washington, and grew up in the wild and beautiful sagebrush highlands of the Okanogan. She is self-taught–inspired by awe and wonder in the natural world. The development of her skills and the reach of her work has been dependent on pure grit. But the passion to create has ever been at the heart of her progress. As she’s lived in many rural areas of the state, she’s shown her work in small-town galleries, or community gathering places such as libraries and county fairs. The subject of her work has evolved from mostly equine portraits to include wild animals. Currently she enjoys working in oils, charcoal, and pen.
