About

Zoe Stern Stillinger was adopted from Vietnam at eight months of age. She grew up in Portland, Oregon and currently lives in Olympia, Washington. She attended Evergreen State College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts focusing her studies on the arts and humanities, specifically the intersections of musical performance and existential philosophy.

Her creative work explores themes of loss and connection, desire and independence, her experience of the transitory, and her ever evolving relationship to ideals. Though there is seriousness at the heart of her work, there is also joy and playfulness in her expression.

She is fueled by a lifelong desire to connect and reconnect, which has resulted in many collaborative projects and events as well as a print publication featuring the artwork of her friends and community members during the time of the pandemic. She is an advocate of creative expression and seeks to live her life and relationships artfully.

As a multidisciplinary artist, she practices songwriting, composing, performing, filmmaking, directing, journaling, analog photography, and dance. Her gentle yet unapologetic approach opens space for thoughts and experiences to be processed and shared, celebrated, made anew. She finds that most of her creative work is intertwined with her experiences in nature.
