About

Hana Choi is a bilingual writer, translator, and attorney in Seattle, Washington. She is a first-generation immigrant from South Korea, where she worked as a news videographer and a film journalist. She received a J.D. from Harvard Law School and, as a pro bono counsel, represented immigrants, DACA recipients, and victims of sex trafficking in asylum proceedings and other applications for immigration benefits. As a fiction writer, she is committed to using the power of storytelling to bring voice to marginalized and vulnerable communities and explore the humanity and beauty of their lives in all their complexity. Her work has received support from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference and the Tin House Summer Workshop. She is currently working on her first novel and a collection of short stories.
