About

Kathryn Hunt studied literature and ethnography at the University of Oregon. Her poems and essays have appeared in The Sun, Orion, Rattle, Crab Orchard Review, Painted Bride Quarterly, Crosscut, Rear Curtain, and the Alaska Quarterly Review. Hunt has also directed and produced documentary films, including “Take This Heart’, a feature-length documentary that was honored with the Anna Quindlen Award for Excellence in Journalism. “No Place Like Home”, about a homeless family in Seattle, was selected for the Venice Film Festival, in Venice, Italy, and broadcast nationally on the PBS series P.O.V.

Kathryn received 2015 GAP funding to support the completion of her second collection of poems. Funding will assist in several months of uninterrupted time in the fall and early winter to review her manuscript, make final revisions and send to presses and literary magazines.
